Advanced Safety and Performance Highlight 2017 Subaru Impreza

Subaru vehicles have a reputation of evoking a great deal of passion among owners. As a Subaru owner, you understand this phenomenon better than others, and if the 2017 Impreza is any indication, that passion is not about to subside any time soon.

The Subaru Impreza is all-new for the 2017 model year. It rides on a new global platform architecture that Subaru will use for other models, including hybrids. The new platform was designed to significantly enhance safety, while simultaneously promoting increased ride comfort and agility.

Once again, the 2017 Impreza will be available in sedan and 5-door styles, and will be offered in four trim levels when it arrives in late 2016: 2.0i base, Premium, Sport, and Limited. For your benefit, every Impreza comes standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Not only is this a clear advantage over its competitors, it adds extra peace of mind on slick driving surfaces.

Along with its new platform, the 2017 Impreza debuts a new design language. The brand’s signature hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights feature prominently up front, and blend well with the vehicles sculpted body. While at the back, more distinct wheel arches accentuate its athletic stance.

The dramatic new looks extends into the cabin, with an outward-flow design that follows the front of the car. The interior is roomier as well. Both the sedan and 5-door are 1.6-inches longer and 1.5-inches wider than the outgoing models. In addition to its smarter layout, the larger dimensions create a roomier cabin for occupants to enjoy.

Safety has always been a key pillar of Subaru’s design philosophy. The outgoing Impreza was named an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK+ when equipped with available EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The 2017 Impreza continues that commitment to safety. In fact, the new platform improves crash energy absorption by 40 percent over present models.

If that isn’t impressive enough, the 2017 Impreza features a host of safety technology such as headlights that illuminate curves in the road as you steer, automatic high beams, and new driver-assistive technologies like reverse automatic braking and a new 4-way tire pressure monitoring system.

The 2017 Subaru Impreza is shaping up to be the most impressive Impreza yet, thanks to a new platform, design, and increased safety features.
