Drive and Handling
The Crosstrek is a true plug-in hybrid model that utilizes a combination of electric power and gasoline. The 2.0-liter subaru BOXER® engine is paired with a permanent magnet AC synchronous motor. These two systems combined produce up to 148 horsepower. A Lineartronic® CVT transmission and Subaru's Intelligent Drive work together to help the Crosstrek Hybrid achieve up to 90 MPGe. For maximum efficiency, the Crosstrek Hybrid utilizes the battery power first and recharges while you're driving by turning kinetic energy into more charge. Charging is easy, with the Crosstrek Hybrid charging fully from zero in five hours with a standard charger.
Hybrid doesn't mean compromise, however. The Crosstrek Hybrid still features Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, X-MODE, Hill Decent Control, Vehicle Dynamics Control, and Active Torque Vectoring to deliver powerful capability in a variety of terrains. Whether you're running errands or exploring trails, the Crosstrek Hybrid does it in style.

You can easily enjoy content on your smartphone or tablet using either the standard Bluetooth® or USB connections, or sync your device to stream more than 30 million songs available on Pandora®, Spotify, Apple Music, or any other streaming service. If you want to really kick your soundtrack up a notch, upgrade to the available 8-speaker, 432-watt-equivalent premium sound system from harman/kardon®.

Standard Subaru safety equipment on the 2022 Crosstrek includes anti-lock brakes, stability and traction controls, a rearview camera, and a full array of airbags. Optional features include the Subaru EyeSight® system that bundles adaptive cruise control, automatic pre-collision braking, lane departure, sway warning, and lane-keep assist. The 2.0i Premium and 2.0i Limited add blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert. Reverse pre-collision braking and an upgraded tire pressure monitoring system are available as well.

Thanks to Subaru’s standard STARLINK app, you can access a wealth of amenities with the swipe of your finger. With the STARLINK app, you can receive vehicle diagnostic alerts, maintenance notifications, vehicle security alarms, and live assistance for both emergency and non-emergency roadside needs. In addition, STARLINK connects your 2022 Crosstrek to in-vehicle apps, including iHeartRadio, Best Parking, and Yelp, all accessible through your paired smartphone.
