2023 Subaru BRZ

Overview

If a fun ride is what you’re looking for, then it’s hard to pass up the 2023 Subaru BRZ. It’s a sports car that aims to deliver the pure sporting experience that’s becoming rarer as time goes on. With its powerful Subaru BOXER engine, incredibly precise handling, and an interior and exterior design that’s bound to turn heads, the BRZ is a sporty coupe that definitely stands head and shoulders above your average ordinary vehicle. The BRZ comes in Premium and Limited trims with the latter offering a few premium extras, including heated front seats decked out in leather and Ultrasuede.

The Perfect Ride For…

Sports car purists and anyone looking for a good time behind the wheel. If you’re also in search of a thrilling sports car experience without leaving your wallet empty, the BRZ’s reasonable MSRP will put an even bigger smile on your face. And speaking of thrills, the BRZ’s looks remain as youthful as ever. After a major refresh back in 2022, the latest BRZ comes relatively unchanged, boasting the same exterior appearance as before. Inside, you’ll find a driver-oriented cockpit with a clean layout and intuitive controls throughout. The 7-inch digital instrument panel puts the tachometer front and center with additional readouts flanking on each side.

Drive and Handling

For 2023, the Subaru BRZ sticks with the now-proven 2.4-liter flat 4-cylinder engine that powered last year’s model. You’ll get 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque to play around with. A 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission lets you get the most out of the 2.4-liter mill. If you’d rather leave the shifting to someone else, there’s also a 6-speed electronic direct-control automatic transmission available. Either way, you’ll definitely have fun with this rear-wheel drive dynamo.

The BRZ’s track-tuned suspension features MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link setup out back, with a wider rear track for enhanced stability around corners and in straight-line acceleration. The chassis itself features a low center of gravity and as little weight as needed, making the BRZ refreshingly tossable on twisty roads. A standard TORSEN® limited-slip differential ensures that power is applied evenly whenever needed. If you’re stuck at a red light on a hill, the Incline Start Assist feature lends a helping hand to get you going.

Key Features

Driver Assist Features

Adding an automatic transmission to the 2023 BRZ also adds EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. This feature enhances your safety whether you’re on the open road or in heavy traffic. EyeSight not only keeps an eye on traffic up ahead, but it can also fine-tune your cruise control to keep up with the flow of traffic and warn you if you stray outside of your lane. It also comes with automatic Pre-Collision Braking, which applies full braking force under emergency situations.

High-Performance Wheels

Choosing the Limited model adds a striking set of 18-inch alloy wheels to the 2023 BRZ. You’ll also find Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rubber wrapped around each wheel, giving you absolute performance and precise control whether you’re on the road or on the track. It also helps that the BRZ comes with a high-performance braking system designed to bring the fun to a complete stop whenever needed.

Alternative Options

Drivers who want performance in a more practical package should explore the 2023 WRX.
