2023 Subaru Solterra
Overview
The 2023 Subaru Solterra is the first fully electric model in the Subaru lineup and gives drivers exactly what they expect from this adventurous brand: standard all-wheel drive, capable offroad handling, and forward-thinking driver assist technology. Adventures on the back roads are no longer off-limits to drivers who want to drive electric. The Solterra offers all the creature comforts one might want in a vehicle, as well as the capabilities of a small off-road crossover.
The Perfect Ride For…
Adventurous drivers who want a capable off-road utility vehicle with the benefits of an all-electric experience. When taking the Solterra off-road, drivers will enjoy 8.3 inches of ground clearance, as well as low-speed cruise control for better offroad handling. The 2023 Subaru Solterra features a maximum charging speed of 100 kW, which means charging the crossover between adventures takes about an hour on a swift level 3 charger. The 2023 Solterra is the ideal crossover for outdoor enthusiasts who are ready to conquer the roads in an electric crossover.
Drive and Handling
The Solterra is powered by two electric motors and an all-wheel-drive system that deliver 215 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque. The Solterra boasts multiple drive modes that deliver power depending on the mode selected. Drivers may choose Eco, Normal, Power, or X-mode. The latter helps drivers conquer terrain on slippery roads or uneven terrain through the independent modulation of power to each wheel.
The 2023 Subaru Solterra features a 72.8 kWh battery, which equates to MPGe up to 94/114 (Hwy/City). Drivers may choose from three trims, including the Premium, Limited, and Touring. When drivers choose the Limited or Touring trims, the Solterra comes standard with roof rails and fixed cross-bar mounting points. All vehicles come equipped with a StarDrive zero-emissions all-electric drivetrain, regenerative braking, and an S-Pedal Drive driving system.
