What's New for 2026?

Subaru has upgraded the charging speed of the 2026 Solterra, allowing new models to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes on a fast charger. Subaru has also increased the range of the Solterra, bringing it up to an estimated maximum of 288 miles. Subaru has increased the horsepower on the base model, and Subaru also updated the charging port to the new NACS plug from the previous CCS port. Subaru has also added a preconditioning system to the Solterra for more optimal battery charging and has slightly updated the exterior design.

Real World Performance

The 2026 Subaru Solterra features dual independent front and rear eAxle AC synchronous electric motor/transaxle units and a single-speed fixed-ratio transmission. Horsepower sits at 233 horsepower for the standard trims and 338 for the upgraded trims. All Solterras feature all-wheel drive, with the base trims featuring 250 lb.-ft. of torque and the upgraded trims offering 300 lb.-ft. of torque.

The estimated range is 288 miles on the Premium trim level and 278 miles on all other trims. Subaru estimates MPGe at 109 highway and 131 city for the Premium trim and 105 highway and 128 city for all other trims.  Cargo capacity for the 2026 Solterra is 23.8 cubic feet on all trims or 63.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.
