Simple Ways to Get into the Fall Spirit

If you live in an area where you can experience a true, crisp-air feeling, spicy apple-cider sipping autumn, you're in luck! There are dozens of fun fall-themed activities to get you out and about this season. Even if you don't live in an area where the leaves change, you can recreate fall's spirit by indulging in the tastes and flavors that make the season so popular—or, you could make a trip to a place where the temperature does change! Any way you slice it, fall is a time for family, festivities, and going out to experience new things. Grab your pumpkin spice latte, throw on a plaid scarf, and get ready for some festive fall fun!  We've gathered a few of our favorite fall activities for you to do with the family.

Start With Your Home - Get into the fall spirit by making décor changes within your own home. Something as simple as swapping out your summer door wreath for a pampas or fall leaf wreath can change the mood. Update your scent with vanilla, pumpkin and spice candles and hand soaps. Lastly, open up the windows and dust off those quilted throw blankets.

Visit Your Local Farm – Grab your favorite scarf and PSL and hit the road to one of your local farms. Get lost in the corn maze, pick your perfect pumpkin (or 7 of them!), sip on hot cider and sneak a dozen of those yummy apple cider donuts. Great for the whole family, as many of your local farms have farm animals, tractor rides, corn mazes and more.

Bake. Bake. And Bake Some More. You just came back from your local farm/orchard and you have more pumpkins and apples than you know what to do with. Call out to Alexa to find a popular pumpkin pie recipe, like this one! Looking for some variety, check out this list of 35 apple desserts recipes that’ll be sure to get you in the fall spirit.

Take in the natural fall beauty – We are conveniently located to some of the area’s most scenic drives. Grab your favorite co-pilot and hit the road to capture the sights of the fall foliage before it’s gone. You can find one of the country’s best fall views in Shenandoah National Park, only a few hours away. Whether you’re taking a drive for the day in your sedan with the sunroof open, or taking the pick-up down for a weekend camping trip, Skyline Drive in Shenandoah is sure not to disappoint.

Fall is beloved for its cooler temperature, gorgeous landscapes, and festive feeling. Make the most of it this year by adding these activities to your fall bucket list! If a new vehicle is on your fall bucket list, contact the Herb Gordon Subaru sales team online or visit our showroom today.
