Go Behind the Scenes With Subaru

At Herb Gordon Subaru, we love putting people behind the wheel of new Subaru models every day, but for some diehard fans, simply owning one isn’t enough. What do you do if your Subaru is more than just a mode of transportation? What can you do if it’s a passion? For these special few, we recommend these in-depth experiences to discover the thrill of the brand and come together with other Subaru fans.

Subaru Winter Experience

For years, the brand has built vehicles that are not only sporty, comfortable, and safe, but also offer incredible versatility thanks to the legendary Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. To show you the full off-road capabilities of its models, the brand offers the Subaru Winter Experience. Each year, the experience converges on the frozen Dollar Lake (pictured above) in the snowmobile capital of the world: Eagle River, Wisconsin.

Participants go through a full safety and technical briefing, learning the intricate systems at work inside a Subaru, followed by a hair-raising ride along with a professional. After some in-depth training, participants get behind the wheel and take a Subaru out for a high-speed ride on the snow-covered frozen lake, becoming a master of the off-road driving. The Subaru Winter Experience only happens once a year and is limited to only a few participants, so early reservations are highly encouraged.

Subaru WinterFest

Maybe a spine-chilling spin on top of a frozen lake is a bit much for you; maybe you’re more of a "Let’s all enjoy some great music and have some fun with other Subaru fans" kind of person. If that’s the case, you should check out the annual Subaru WinterFest (pictured above). Each winter, Subaru brings the party to multiple cities across the country.

This celebration of the mountain lifestyle brings live entertainments, locally sourced food and beverages, extreme sports, and cool prizes to a handful of POWDR resorts in the US. POWDR is one of the largest ski resort operators in North America, and its resorts are renowned for amazing natural settings and incredible adventure.

Each day of the WinterFest includes warm treats like craft coffee and s’mores, live entertainment from national acts, demonstrations and hangout areas, and plenty of great giveaways from Subaru and partners, like Nordica, harmon/kardon®, and Thule. For more information on a Subaru WinterFest stop near you, please visit www.subaru.com/events and follow #SubaruWinterFest.

Boxerfest

If you’re not into the cold weather fun, the annual Subaru Tecnica International Boxerfest has been the largest Subaru festival in the Mid-Atlantic area since it debuted in 2014. Thousands of Subaru fans come to show off their own vehicles or admire others. Subaru also comes out to show off the latest offerings in high-performance machinery, like the indefatigable 2019 WRX STI Series (pictured above) that debuted at this year’s Boxerfest in Camden, NJ. In addition to cool cars and demonstrations, fans can enjoy killer deals from vendors and epic prizes, and of course, there’s plenty of fun and activities for the entire family.

Subaru of Indiana Plant Tour

Subaru offers plant tours to let the public see its state-of-the-art facility in Lafayette, Indiana (pictured above) where it builds many of its models for the North American market. This massive plant has produced millions of vehicles since it was created in 1986. The facility covers 3.3 million square feet with over 16 miles of conveyors and 2 miles of test track.

There, you'll see some of the most advanced robotics technologies and highly skilled specialists that it takes to make a Subaru a Subaru, but make sure you book early at the link above. The tours are limited in availability and size, (i.e. booking in advance is recommended).

You invest a lot in your vehicle, so it should be more than just a mere machine in your life. These in-depth experiences from Subaru can show you the way to expanding your automotive interests into a full-throttle passion.
